Brereton Town Juniors Football Club has been in existence for 10 years and we have recently embarked on a development programme to further encourage and support Junior football in the local area.

In April 2006 we were granted the status of FA Charter Standard Club which is the Football Association’s official seal of approval for amateur clubs. This means our players can enjoy training and matches in a well run and safe environment and under the supervision of F.A. qualified coaches at all age groups. We have our own Code of Conduct and our volunteers are police (CRB) checked and trained in Emergency First Aid and Child Protection.

We actively strive to work with mixed ability groups and focus on player participation, personal skills, fitness and team building,as opposed to “winning at all costs”. We aim to ensure that we can provide local children of both sexes and all abilities, the opportunity to play football in an enjoyable and safe environment.

During the 2006/2207 season we had 4 boys teams in the age groups Under 8s, Under 10s, Under 13s and Under 14s who played in the Lichfield & District Recreational League. Next season we hope to increase to 6 boys teams and an U12 Girls team. At present our older teams play at our HQ at Ravenhill Park in Brereton and our younger teams at Green Lane playing fields in Rugeley.

In addition we arrange a Soccer School for young people on Saturday mornings. The Soccer School is aimed at all players, male and female from 4 years old. Ability is irrelevant as a willingness to enjoy playing football is the only important criteria.

We are constantly striving to provide the best facilities and equipment for our young people to use, as we have ambitious and exciting development plans for our Club over the next 2-3 years. We have developed close links with a number of local businesses as we strive to include the whole community.
We have sponsorship packages available that may include advertising space around the pitch and/or shirt advertising from £100-£1000. We also produce regular newsletters in which all our sponsors are listed.

We have a number of FA Qualified Coaches and all our adults who train any of young players have been CRB checked. Our Head Coach is Kieran Newey who himself first came to the Club as a young player and has now established himself as one of the leading Coaches in the area. All new volunteers are welcome as we will always be able to involve you in our Club, but please understand that we will ask that you undertake a CRB check first and undertake Child Protection training as required by the FA.

Ladies are also very welcome and we hope that our new U12 Girls team for next season will be the first of a growing number of females to join our Club. We currently have 2 female volunteer coaches to assist in this exciting development.

We are also working closely with local schools by holding twice weekly training sessions at two schools, in an initiative to find the players and coaches of the future.

We encourage all the parents of our players to become members of the Club as this costs just £2 per year for the whole family. All members have use of the Clubhouse which is open 7 days a week and is also available for hire for private parties.

Although the football season generally finishes in May each year, we continue training throughout the summer and also arrange hugely subsidised events. In July we are taking our members on a tour of Old Trafford, Manchester United’s world famous stadium. This includes going behind the scenes into the dressing rooms etc, entrance to the museum and lunch at the Stadium restaurant. In August we are visiting Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park.

If you wish to join one of the area’s fastest growing and exciting Junior football Clubs, either as a player or a volunteer/coach, then please feel free to come down to our Ravenhill Park ground any Saturday morning from 1030am to midday and one of our Committee will be there to welcome you.
